Learn to cook the staples of Kenyan popular cuisine! The workshop starts with a talk about culture and food followed by an intensive practical lesson; then we’ll eat all together!

Makuti is a traditional thatching made from the sun-dried leaves of the coconut palm, In this workshop, you’ll discover the entire process: from identifying and gathering the right palm leaves, to weaving and assembling them into roofing tiles. For those who prefer a smaller, personal project, there will also be the chance to craft bags, baskets, or simple accessories to take home as a unique handmade souvenir.

We have an history for hosting successful school trips. As MCNC is also a certificed tree rehabilitation center, we offer a range of educational experiences teaching about local ecosystem; fun and learning are guaranteed with us!
